Lawmakers eye $200 million local aid cut, expect widespread layoffs (Danvers Herald)

March 15, 2010 – 12:56 pm Already coping with last year’s record reductions in local aid, cities and towns could see that aid cut by $200 million more next fiscal year, a 4 percent cut that one prominent municipal advocate said would lead to “widespread layoffs all throughout Massachusetts.”
